Invest In Non Heated Pressure Washing Equipment to Save Money
Contractors and businesses often buy heated pressure washing equipment because heat greatly speeds up the cleaning process. Hot water, or even the immense power of wet steam, dissolves heavy layers of grease, washes away hydrocarbons, eliminates burned petrochemicals, and removes plant sap and a variety of other stains and spots. The car wash industry, for example, uses power washing equipment that emits steam as hot as 330°F to clean engines and vehicle exteriors. If you deal with heavy layers of grease, chemicals, and carbon compounds regularly, a heated machine is the best choice, particularly because this pressure washing equipment also carries the option of switching to cold water wash.
However, hot water is not required for a variety of cleaning applications. If you deal primarily with such lighter commercial cleaning requirements, you can save money by investing in non-heated pressure washing equipment, which is cheaper than their heated counterparts. These machines lack heating devices and therefore consume less power. In addition, the lack of heating coils often translates to a lower price tag.
Cold water machines usually have very high pressure levels varying from 2000 psi to 8000 psi with flow rates of 3-8 GPM. The high pressure spray blasts off dirt from hard surfaces including concrete, granite, stone and metal. Some machines may accept hot water, even though they cannot heat it.
Cold water pressure washers are often portable because they are used for outdoor cleaning operations. For the same reason, they may have gasoline powered engines because electricity is unavailable in many outdoor applications where the pressure cleaners may be used. Electric models are just as efficient, though they require use in proximity to a source of electricity, like a plug point or a generator. Portability is also an important feature if the pressure cleaners need to be moved around to various areas for cleaning. In these cases, both electric and gasoline powered systems are efficient as long as the power source is readily available.
What are the major commercial applications for non-heated pressure washing equipment? Some are mentioned below:
Agricultural: Cold water pressure washing equipment is ideal for cleaning farmyards, stalls, sheds, farm implements, tractors, and feeding troughs. If you have a non-electric machine, do not run the engine indoors, as gasoline engines emit exhaust. Instead, park the machine outdoors while you use the long hose to clean sheds, cattle stalls, warehouses, and storage areas. Fuel powered industrial pressure washer equipment used indoors without proper ventilation can create dangerous conditions.
Grounds Maintenance:Non-electric, cold water, pressure washers are adequate for cleaning outdoor landscapes and private grounds. These pressure cleaners remove bird droppings, plant sap, and other dirt from concrete and tarred surfaces. They are suitable for cleaning fences, stonework, and outdoor constructions, such as garden arbors and fountains.
Wet Sandblasting: Wet sandblasting, considered safer than dry sandblasting, should never be attempted using hot water. Cold water power washers are suitable for spot sandblasting with a narrow spray patter. First, check to see if the machine is fitted with a sandblasting kit. Wet sandblasting removes paint spots, rust, corrosion and other hard to remove dirt from hard surfaces.
Roads and Infrastructure: A contractor does not usually require hot water for cleaning roads, sidewalks, stairs, railings, fences, tiled walkways, and other public infrastructure. A portable industrial pressure washer is enough for maintaining these sites.
What cold water power washers lack by way of heat, they compensate in the form of high pressure levels and flow rates. These machines are a cheaper alternative to hot water machines for some industrial and commercial applications and they offer many benefits to users, as well.

I'm trying to raise pressure in my well. What do I have to do?
I just replaced my pressure switch with a Square D FSG2M4 model. Right now the pressure is at about 25psi. I asked a friend how to raise it and he was going off about releasing air in the tank or something. (He's kinda bad at explaining things). So what do I have to do considering I have the low pressure cut-off valve?
This switch has a lever for the low cut-off. You hold up the lever until you get to the desired pressure. But my friend was telling me to be careful doing that because of the air.
I'm just trying to get decent pressure in my shower.
If you replaced the pressure switch there should be a set of instructions with it ...Ive always found them under the cover on a piece of paper.. changing pressure has nothing to do with air by the way i would check to make sure your tank has air they can leak down over time causing a shorter pump up and drain down time cycle. Lastly if you have a half horse centrifugal pump (most common) 25psi is way to low. those type pumps should range between 40 and 60 with out any trouble
