Combi boiler cuts out when hot tap is opened, but only when central heating is on.?
I have a Vaillant 282e combi boiler. It cuts out when any hot tap is opened, but only does this when the central heating is on. The main burner turns off and then tries to reignite but can't. It then goes into lockout. The Gas valve has been checked and is fine, as is the diverter valve. What could it be?
Presumably it will not work at all when the central heating is off.
first look at the actuating cam at the rear of the servo valve. ( triangular valve with small pipes attached ) is this operating the micro switch when the tap is turned on, if not then replace the diaphragm in the water valve (below servo valve) If this is OK then look at the diverter valve remove the right hand side panel and the clear plastic cover over the switches observe the lever dose it travel the full distance both ways in for heating out for hot water. if not replace diaphragm in diverter valve. also look at the restricter in the banjo union on the small pipe. if still no operation of the diverter valve suspect the servo valve (blocked) or the pump low on output.
You need to be CORGI reg to work on gas appliances.
