What kind of air compresser part do i need?
I have a Ingersoll Rand portable air compresser. Some one stood on it and broke a fitting off of it. I cant seem to find a replacement part for it so i was wondering if i could get a plumbing part to substitute for it. I need a part with 1/4 inch NPT threads. I have tried to put a nipple on it but it doesn't work because while your tightening one. it loosens the other. In other words i need a part that will allow me to screw one end of the part into the tank.... the other end has to have a nut on it that will spin free In order to get both pieces tight the part has to be made with a coupling that allow it to spin in opposite directions. Someone said i need a 1/4 inch union, but i cant find a union that small. Is there any type of plumbing part that will fix my air compresser?? What is this part called?? Thanks
Think I'd look up Ingersoll-Rand on the web and get some info on parts, schematics, local service shops, etc. Then figure out what part you need and either order it or go buy it a local compressor repair service.
