The Electrical Program Of Your Vehicle Keeps It Operating
Many people enjoy driving a car, because of the usefulness, but at the same time have absolutely no idea how it runs. It truly is hard enough for many people to find some time to get their car to a auto technician to have it checked over from time to time. It isnt difficult to have the attitude, out of sight, out of mind, but just because the electrical system is out of sight, isnt going to mean that it doesnt need to be maintained.
For people who know nothing about the workings of a car, the electrical system is only a group of wires. The truth is, the small cables that wind throughout the car, are just a minor portion of the large system that delivers electricity that the car needs to perform. The electrical power system of an automobile isnt just complex, but also sophisticated, and it consists of the battery, starter, voltage regulator, solenoid, generator, and fuse panel. The battery may be the primary component of the car, but others are equally necessary. Each of the electrical requirements are provided by the power of the 12-volt battery.
The battery pack is consistently being recharged by the generator, or alternator. The alternator and also the engine are attached by a belt, and this process keeps generating the battery, which keeps the car working. The voltage of electricity created in the battery is passed to the starter in order to start the vehicle. This is why whenever your battery is dead the starter wont start the car. This is why the battery is considered to be so important, given that without it, nothing in the vehicle works. It retains all of the power needed to make the car move, and also to permit the things such as clocks, radio and car alarm to function.
The battery pack works by having six cells that are divided into negative and positive plates through insulators. A mixture of water and sulfuric acid, creates an electrolyte substance that they are then immersed in. Producing power is also created by the alternator, which is needed to run engine controls and other ignition devices. The belt-driven alternator is used to transform AC power directly into DC power. The biggest consumer of energy is the starter, and without this part working the car wouldnt start. To transmit energy it is necessary to use the battery, but it is administered by the solenoid, and is controlled by the ignition switch. When you are getting into your vehicle and turn on the ignition switch, a lot happens, quite quickly to make your car start.
The power system of your automobile wouldnt be complete without the fuse panel, which connects to every electrical device in your car. In this particular box is an abundant number of fuses, that can protect your car from overloads, or short circuits. When you at least have a broad idea of how your cars electrical system works, it will maybe help you when you next need repairs.

Constant Voltage from DC generator?
I need constant 5 volt output from my dc generator which i have fitted in my bike for charging my cell. The voltage should not go over 5 volt even if the speed of the bike increases. I have a LM317T voltage regulator and i tested it, but the voltage didn't remain stable if the increased the input volts. I need a stable 5 volts output. Please suggest me some circuits or ideas and please keep your language a little simple as i am not an expert in electronics. Thanks
Then you have the 317 configured wrong, it should work. But it will not do anything until the input gets to 7 volts. Below that you will get a varying voltage. But when the input gets to 7 volts and higher, the output will be stable at 5 volts. Until the input gets to 40 volts, above that and the regulator will be damaged.
Can you post the circuit you used?
And exactly what happens as the voltage changes? what do you measure out of the regulator?
