4000 onan cummin generator new rotors in it but no volt?
I had installed new rotor,brushes, and slip ring in it. Everything fine and it run smooth but no volt. Is there any way I should look at the problem for no volt?
Try running the engine and plugging in an electric drill. Hold the drill trigger in all the way and give the chuck a quick spin in either direction. This might be enough to jump start the field and make it work. Once you have it working plug in a small heater or a few light bulbs and let it run for half an hour.
